π¬ This butterfly can be found in South Texas, Mexico, and Central America, but is primarily studied in Costa Rica. This species prefers subtropical climates and areas with high humidity, such as near rivers. It is nontoxic to predators, so it is often targeted by enemies such as birds, lizards, frogs, spiders, and other insects.
