💬 It’s not uncommon to see cruise ships arriving constantly in Costa Rica, hoping to visit our beautiful beaches. On this occasion, I had the chance to meet the imposing cruise ship MS Zuiderdam from Netherlands.
Engine: five Wartsila-Sulzer diesel engines (three 16-cylinder and two 12-cylinder) and a General Electric LM2500 gas turbine.
Power: 84,000 HP (62,638.789 kW).
Top Speed: 24 knots (44.4 kmph, 27.6 mph).
Propulsors: Two 17.62 MW, 160 rpm synchronous freshwater-cooled ABB Azipod propulsors.
