💬 The Agua Volcano (Volcán de Agua) holds cultural significance for indigenous Mayan communities, symbolizing strength and resilience and being woven into local legends and folklore. Its name comes from a lahar, or flow of mud and debris, that descended from its crater in 1541, destroying the old capital, Ciudad Vieja, and causing many deaths.
